Abstract Of Title

The aim of this study is to point out "The Concept of Word-Reading-Writing Relation as to Reading the Holy Qur'an". It covers an introduction, three chapters, a general conclu sion and an appendix. The aim, the importance, the position of the thesis among other studies, the method and the evaluation of the bib liography are stated on the introduction. The first chapter covers the reading of the Holy Qur'an at the promulgation period and the place of the offi cially issued Mushaf s by Third Caliph Osman as to reading it. The second chapter considers the relationship of rea ding differences with the "revelation". The issues whether reading differences have a root in revelation, the possibly supporting tradition to the subject, the views and the eva luations of the thinkers have been discussed wholly. It has been concluded that reading differences could not be based on revelation. The third chapter deals with the relationship of rea ding differences with the officially published Mushaf s. The characteristics of the writing have been investigated first. The issue whether the writing might be the reason of reading differences or not has been evaluated later. It has been conc luded that the writing style of the Mushafs which are the written forms of Holy Qur'an has a significant role on the -I formation of reading differences and the reading of those Mushafs has been based on the "oral transmission". At the separate Appendix, a significant part of the reading differences of the "Reading of the Fourteen Imams" has been listed in detail. The list specifically assigned to the class of differences named as "the differences without any order". Every Imam and his own readind dealing with the sûras have been classified separately. fs©3 Yükseköğretim Kurulu Dökümantasyoa Merkesri
