“The evaluation of the synonyms in the Qur'an in terms of Thesaurus”

Abstract Of Title

Teraduf , synonymy and furuk ,the rejection of synonymy, are two linguistic fields that emerged in the early stages of Islam. In the historical process, it is observed that there has been a significant accumulation of literature together with the supporters of both fields. While the first field justifies the existence of synonymy, the second field is based on the denial of synonymy and they base on these claims with various evidences. In this research, we discussed how to address the synonymys mentioned in the Qur'an in the thesaurus of the Furuk and what differences were found between them. There are a number of differences in the Qur'an, although the words called "synonymys" are combined in a denomination of acception. The vast majority of these words can be found the differences between them both in the thesaurus of furuk and dictionaries. In the Qur'an, these words are used with great sensitivity and are preferred with great care considering the subtle differences between the words. In general, altough it is possible to find the differences between words in the thesaurus, the differences between some synonyms are not included in the thesaurus, especially in the furuk. This shows that linguistics who do not accept synonyms and furuk supporters have exaggerated in their claims. According to the reasonable approach in this regard, the antinomy/difference in the word-acception relationship is fundamental, but; the existence of synonyms is accepted between words whose differences are not mentioned in the thesaurus. The synonyms found in the Qur'an are being used in five different styles and each style must be dealt with individually in terms of furuk. These usage patterns from each other are these: 1. Synonyms coming one after another and strengthening each other, 2. The words atributed to their own synonyms, 3. The style in which a word is used for its own synonym in the former of strengthening state, 4.Synonyms from similar verses and contexts (word similarity in the verses), 5. Synonyms which exist in different verses and different contexts.
