Abstract Of Title

This thesis consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, we studied the situation of the scripture in the society where Prophet Muhammad had lived from the point of historical approach. Also we studied the reports concerning the Qur?an had been written in the Prophet Muhammad?s time. Caliph Abu Bakr?s works on jam? of the Qur?an (to bring together the Qur?an) is examined in this part.In the second chapter, we studied works of Caliph Othman related with the Qur?an. We criticized Orientalist?s works which claim that the Qur?an was collected in the Umayyad Caliphate period. For this purpose in this chapter, we studied reports in the Caliph Othman?s period through historical and critical perspective.In the third chapter, we studied the process of the Qur?an in terms of qıraah and kitabeh afterwards the Caliph. Also we analyzed the phases of the Qur?an until its current shape.In conclusion, we put forward that the Qur?an was written in the Prophet Muhammad?s time even though it could not arrange as we understand today because of the lack of writing equipment. The Qur?an has textualized with usable materials and arranged to the current form in the time of Caliph Abu Bakr. Also we realized that the political cautions have been taken to prevent different readings of the Qur?an and to make correction and punctuations of the text after the period of Caliph Othman.
