Abstract Of Title

Atamov, Mursal, "Analyzing the Translations of the Qur'an in Russian in Science of Translation (A Contribution to the Formation of Understandable Transla-tion of the Qur'an in Russian", Ph.D. Dissertation, Advisor: Prof. Dr. Salih Akdemir, Ankara 2013, VII+250. This dissertation examines the translations of the Qur'an in Russian from the point of Science of Translation. The dissertation consists of introduction and three chapters. The introductory chapter explains the topic, importance, and method. The first chapter presents the field of the Science of Translation with a special reference to the related results of the Science of Translation and Linguistics for the study. This chapter also deals with in detail the place of Linguistics and the Science of Translation in Russia Federation from past to present. The second chapter examines to what extent the Qur'an can be translated. In this chapter the approaches related to the translation of the Qur'an is documented. In evaluation of the translations, the translations of the Qur'an in Russian are analyzed from the point of the Science of Translation and the interpreters of these Qur'an translations are briefly introduced in two parts. The third chapter deals with the question of generating an effective and un-derstandable Qur'an translation. In this context the resolutions are presented in forming criteria for the Qur'an translation. Key Words: Qur'an Translations in Russian, Translation Studies, Semantic Change.
