Abstract Of Title
In early Islamic era, in mind of illiterate Arabs, there was a structural relationbetween the social self-image and its evolution and between their Qur?an image and itsevolution.Pre-Qur?anic era, Arab social identity, was constructed on the contradiction thatwas between illiterate Arabs and their neighbours, the people of the scripture. Ka?bah wasthe central symbol. But Arabs were emulating their neighbours and they were desiring toachieve a scripture like them. This caused a big tension in their mind until Qur?an.When the Qur?an came, it was imagined as a suggestion about changing the settledilliterate social identity, its symbol and reference with a scripture. Politically, it caused asocial split. Consequently in this stage, the tension mentioned aroused in actual life.In third identity stage, Arabs preferred the Qur?an/new scripture as base of identity. However, at this time the tension aroused in the Qur?an imagination. One of two tensionpoints is related to the genuine identity. It suggests for the new scripture an (even though itwas being written) illiterate, valid, practical structure. The Prophet made The Qur'an feltand concealed by his self presence. And the second one suggests a literally concealed wholescripture. Nevertheless the former became dominant tendency and formed this stage. When the Prophet (the concrete base of the identity and the scripture) died, illiteratemuslim Arabs needed a literally standardized whole scripture. The Qur?an have become tobe imagined as an officially, wholly and literally concealed, and therefore unique validscripture.
