MUHAMMAD KAYA
Abstract Of Title
Quran is a divine book which has been tried to be understood by various glossary techniques from the first day it was revealed to the present day. One of these glossary methods is the linguistic glossary. This method is described as "Understanding technique of Quran through the frame of data of Arab linguistic". Even though the early samples of this glossary method is found in the era of Prophet Mohammed, this method was founded as a school in the era of Tabiun. Many books have been penned via this glossary method which aims to understand Quran through the sub-branch of Arabic language such as sarf, nahiv, ishtikak, belagat. Another feature seen in these books is the examination of different position of words of verses in terms of irab/nahiv and the impact of these differences to the meaning of verse. This method which is used in linguistic glossary since linguistic glossary started to be a school, in the course of time, provided a basis for the creation of irabu'l-Kuran books. The most prominent criterion on the determination of the irab of the words in verses is the mastery of glossator on the Arabic language. The evaluation of glossator on the irab of verse affects the meaning of verse. The presupposition of glossator could affect this process of evaluation in some occasions. One of the glossators who interprets Quran by linguistic method is Zemahsheri (d. 538/1144) who is regarded as "imam" on the Arabic language. In his work entitled el-Kashshaf which penned by the linguistic glossary method, he interprets Quran by the sub-branches of Arabic language. He also touches upon irab differences which can change the meaning and the effect of these differences to the meaning.
