Abstract Of Title

The aim of this research is to locate the quality of education in summer Quran courses in terms of learning and teaching process, the professional proficieny of course instructors, to reveal the eficiency/practicableness of techniques/methods and materials in Quran teaching and basic religious knowledge and their effects on children. Furthermore to evaluate the status of summer Quran courses that have been organized in "level system" according to the students, parents and instructors' point of view, to give advices for the problems that have been encountered in this process. This study has three sections and conclusion and suggestions also an introduction. Introduction: Theme, problems, aim, importance and limitations of the research and studies about topic is covered. Section one: Information about theoretical framework (learning-teaching theories, modern approaches in education, process based education, learning and teaching principles/strategies/ techniques, materials, planing and evaluation in education) is given. Section two: Historical framework (Quran teaching and Quran courses, historical progress of Quran courses, status of Quran courses today, summer Quran courses, historical progress of summer Quran courses and their status today ) is studied. Section three: Empiric framework (information about Balıkesir which is the place of the research, technique, findings and hypothesis about students, instructors and parents and discussions) is studied. Finally: Results that has been acquired by findings and comments and suggestions is studied.
