“The Phrase of “Qurratu ʻAyn” as an Expression of Happiness in the Holy Qur’an”

Abstract Of Title
One of the basic expressions of man’s happiness on the Qur’an that
deals with people from various aspects is the phrase of “qurratu ʻayn”. This
phrase, which can be expressed as “the bright of the eye”, is pointing to the
feeling of human’s joy and happiness and complacency. In this article, “qurratu
ʻayn” phrase is being analysed. This phrase is used in the form of noun phrase
and the form of verb sentence in the verses. First we focused on the meaning of
the phrase in Arabic and afterwards, the messages desired to be given by this
expression are examined within the framework of the verses that use this
expression. According to this, several of the issues that gives joy and happiness
to the people: Having children, to take care of a baby, not to remain separate
from the baby, get support in extreme cases especially suchlike birth, see the
concern and indulgence from her husband, have to happy family and attain to
unparalleled beauty of heaven.
