Abstract Of Title
This study examines the different stages of the revelation process
of the Holy Qur'an and attempts to establish a connection between the
changes, that the Qur'an had been subjected during these stages, and i ts
translation. The Holy Qur'an was firstly formed in al-Lawh ai-Mahfudh,
the guarded tablet, (a place where the Holy Qur'an are kept) and
then revealed to Gabriel who conveyed the divine message to Prophet
Muharnrnad in the different forms and stages. According to some Muslim
scholars, during the process of completion (from formatian to revelation),
Qur'an had been subjected only to some formal changes
and no any changes had occurred in its meaning. At every stage, the
Qur'an had become more feasible, more readable and more understandable.
It was previously only in a state of a divine knowledge, later the
Angels had an access to it, and finally the human beings gained the
knowledge of it and become to recognize and understand it. Each of
this process is regarded in this study as 'translation' depending upon
the assumption that making any. text known and understandable to others
is included within the connotation of the translation process. This
is known as inner-translation. With this study, it is aimed to draw the
attention of the readers towards the existence and possibility of inner
translation in the Holy Qur'an, hlghlighting especially the Arabic presentations
of non- Arabic conversations of early messengers.
