Abstract Of Title
It is a sociological fact that all religions need leadership and guidance
in a broader sense. In that context, the Jewish priesthood occupies
very important place. The main Jewish literature presents highly rich information
in this subject. The Qur’an also includes some important findings
with regard to the Jewish priesthood and makes warnings about their
status in its revelation period. The present article aims to examine multidimensional
changes the Jewish priesthood has been subjected throughout
history depending on Jewish sources as well as the Qur’an and exegetical
literature.
