“An Overview on the Different Beliefs and Understanding of the Jews of Medina in Koran”

Abstract Of Title
lt has frankly been observed in the verses of Koran revealed after Hijra
that several inciden ts have been ocuured between muslim s and jews, and differences
about religion approach between two groups. The differences in beliefs and attitudes
revealed between muslims and jews during Medina period have been mentionedin Koran. But it has been questioned that whether this beliefs and attitudes of jews of
Medina have similarity with Judaism which has been exhibited since Moses. Researchers
who have been working on this issue for last several centuries say that
so me of bdiefs and attitudes of jews of Medina difierent from general Judaism and
the critidsm of Koran has not include all of the jews.
In this study, problematic beliefs and perceptions of jews of Medina about God,
prophets, scripture, afterlife will be examined. Unlike their ancestors, theirs accepting
Uzeyr as the son of God and Gabriel as an enemy, and their hostile attitudes
about qibla will be independently studied. There are many belief problem s of jews
in Koran but we chose these three subject which the most discussed. The issue will
be studied with the h elp of source of Tefsir, Si yer, Islamic Historiy, Hadith as well
as modern, western studies about Koran.
