“Crime and punishment suitability in the light of Quran and sunnah”

Abstract Of Title
This study presents the relation between crime and punishment with a perception which is centered on Quran and Sunnah. The crimes which are explained by Quran in detail like murder, adultery, malicious prosecution, theft (serika), crimes against public order; and which take place in the practices of Prophet Muhammad like using narcotics/intoxicants and apostasy are compared in terms of "crime and punishment suitability" and their relations with general norms. Punishments of older communities and punishments regarding the afterlife are discussed within the frame of "universality of crime and punishment suitability". Perceptions of western authors and Islamic scholars towards crime and punishment determination are discussed.
