“Human types in anectodes (stories) in Quran”

Abstract Of Title

As personality and prototype concepts are basic concepts of psychology, we need to refer to the data of psychology. Generally, in Qur'an, there are three kinds of human prototypes based on belief: the believer(mü'min), the infidel (kafir), and the hypocrite (münafık). The positive and negative specialities of absolute personality type in the context of stories told especially in Adam stories in Qur'an are the references of triple personalities and story personalities. Also, knowing some literal features of the stories and knowing relationship of personality element in the story with the elements in the other stories are subsidiary factors for determining prototypes and their characteristics. Examples of personality types in the stories are the living examples of everytime (general) triple personalities of Qur'an. So, the personality types in Quran stories are the living characters existing everywhere and everytime. The personality types in Quran are not told from every perspective as a matter of its aim in telling method. Some positive and negative characters of personalities pertaining to provide religious aim is highlighted. Within this scope, physical specialities of some male personalities are rare in the stories. Physical specialialities of female personalities are never told. In the stoeies, although female personalities are not the protagonist, their personalities are apparent. Quran never ignores human side of the personalities who are even prophets; it doesn't present them as supernatural beings. Personality types mentioned in the stories are stated with the reflections of basic characters who emerge as a result of mankind having two-sided presence. In this sense, positive personality types are told with the characters who carry out the duty of being the caliphs of God, wisdom and pledge of the sins and negative personality types are told with the characters who has the rage of living infinitely and having possessions.
