“Ebu Said Muhammed Hadimi's method in interpretation of Qur'an. ”
RASHAD ELİASOV
Abstract Of Title
Hadimi argues that jurisprudential (fıkhi) and mystical (tasavvufi) methods were developed to discover "Qur'anic Truths". In his view, one should engage in exegesis only after mastering these methods and becoming experts in these fields. Otherwise, a fragmented and partial understanding of the Qur'an would emerge. His system therefore has an interdisciplinary character.Jurisprudence and theology as religious sciences, logic as a method of philosophical analysis and substantiation and mysticism as metaphysics of oneness of being (vahdeti vücud) can co-exist in this system of thought without experiencing a problem of religious and intellectual justification. In this respect, we can argue that Hâdimî adopted the principles, methods and perceptions of science and learning of late Ottoman scholars. In his works, Hâdimî tries to support his intellectual interpretations with religious evidence on the one hand and tries to ground his religious explanations on intellectual foundations on the other hand. He thinks that divine knowledge completes human knowledge.
