“Ibn Hazm's methodology of interpreting the Quran”

Abstract Of Title
This study deals with the subjects of Ibn Hazm's commentary method which is one of the important scholars of Andalusia. The aim of this study is to reveal the methods followed by Ibn Hazm in the methodology of interpreting the Qur'an and the principles that he considers in his interpretations. This study, which aims to examine the interpretation of the Qur'an from a holistic perspective, consists of an introduction, four chapters and a conclusion. In the introduction of the research, information is given about the scope, subject, aim, literature review, method and sources of the study. In the first part of the thesis, Ibn Hazm's life, his scientific personality and the scientific background of the period he lived in are revealed. In the second part, Ibn Hazm's understanding of the nature of the Qur'an and its characteristic features are evaluated. In the third part, firstly, the evaluations of Ibn Hazm on the understanding of interpreting the Quran with sources of narration are given. Then, the place of his method of reasoning in the understanding of the Qur'an and his analyzes on this method are examined. In the fourth chapter, the principle of zâhirü'l-Quran, which constitutes the principles of interpretation of his, is discussed with examples. In the conclusion part, conclusions about Ibn Hazm's understanding of tafsir are listed in our study. Keywords: Ibn Hazm, Tafsir, Tafsir Method, Zâhirü'l-Kur'an, Dirâyet.
