Abstract Of Title

In this study titled "Hüsâmaddîn Ali el-Bitlisî And His Commentary of Qur'an Named Câmi'u't-Tanzîl ve't-Ta'vîl in terms of Sûfî Commentary Tradition", the effort of understanding the Qur'an of a sufi who is a member of the Nurbakhshiya order was examined. In the course of this study, we tried to reach a conclusion by evaluating the most significant details we compiled from Bitlisî's commentary with an analytical method. Our thesis consists of an introduction, four chapters and a conclusion. In the Introduction, we discussed the scope, purpose, methods and techniques and the conceptual framework of the study. In the first chapter, after discussing through the period Bitlisî lived in the political, religious and cultural context, the life and works of the author were discussed, and in the meantime, external and internal criticism of the work we examined was made in this part. In the second chapter, resources of Câmi'u't-Tenzîl was discussed and a comprehensive evaluation was made from the viewpoint of commentary tradition. At the third chapter, Câmi'u't-Tenzîl was discussed in terms of his sufi comments. In the fourth chapter, old beliefs and cultures in Câmi'u't-Tenzîl and the political-social understanding of the period Bitlisî lived and traces of folk beliefs were evaluated. At the conclusion, the position of Câmi'u't-Tenzîl within the sufi commentary tradition has been determined.
