In order to benefit from the content of the Qur'an in terms of morality and prac-tice, it first needs to be correctly and soundly understood. In fact, during the era of happiness, Muslims or others made efforts to understand and/or live the Qur’an. From that time on, people have been and will try to obtain religious in-formation that is oriented to the Qur'an. This is also important in terms of mee-ting the needs of people learning it and fulfilling their respective responsibilities related to it. For meeting this need, the tafsir tradition of the Qur’an can be consi-dered as a priority. Qur’an always holds its own position as an important discip-line in terms ofthe fact that it aspires to put forward the meaning and the purpo-se of Kalam Allah (Word of God). The Qur’an can be described as the focus of Is-lamic sciences. Having good grasp of the Qur’an, in a sense its content, is signifi-cant in terms of gaining very fundamental and truthful culture or knowledge about the religion from its first source. As a matter of fact, the servant can learn his/her duties against Allah, especially worship and arbitrariness, primarily and accurately, first of all from the Qur'an which is sent by Him. Because there are re-velation-based and fundamental information about the arbitrariness of the servi-tude and worship; duties, and responsibilities of the servant against Allah. The contribution and importance of tafsir in the clarification of these are great. In-deed, the fact that the accumulation about it continues its existence for hundreds of years in tafsir’s sources which are presented in written documents and that the related issues are still being examined, reflect the nature of this work to be continued always in terms of the mission it assumed. What is the role of the tafsir in the understanding of these issues accurately and adequately in the Qur'an? What place can it have related to the interpretation and explanation of the Qur'an among the other Islamic sciences? How can these issues be understood/learned from the Qur'an truthfully? At this point, what is the task of tafsir and the need for it? We think that the results of examining, questioning and revealing some de-terminations of such issues in the context of the relationship between ser-vant/servitude and tafsir can only be beneficial. As a matter of fact, we consider that a relationship to be set up between tafsir and servitude, which includes construction and improvement ofhuman life with its material and spiritual di-mensions, can have beneficial results. In terms of the Qur'an, we aim to examine, produce and put forward solutions and suggestions in this study by analyzing and synthesizing above-mentioned issues in the context of the tafsir that we beli-eve it can form a ground and an area for Islamic sciences.Keywords: Tafsir, Qur’an awareness, Servitude / Worship sensitivity, Qur’an and Religious duty/responsibility.
