“PROF. DR. FUAT SEZGİN’S CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF QUR’AN HISTORY, RECİTATION AND COMMENTARY”

Abstract Of Title
In this study, firstly, we will focused on some issues about Fuat Sezgin’s life. Then, the following three works which he edited that edition critique his studies on the science of exegesis will be examined: Abu Ubeyde Ma’mer b. Musennâ et-Teymî el-Basrî: Macâzu’l-Kur’ân; Ebu Bakr Muhammad b. Tayyib b. Muhammad el-Basrî el-Bakillâni: el-İntisâr li’l-Kur’ân; Abû ‘Ubeyd Kâsım b. Sellâm el-Herevî el-Ezdî: en-Nâsih ve’l-Mansûh fi’l-Kur’an. Later on, his research on Bukhari’s Sources and his great work History of Arab-Islamic Sciences, The Qur'an and commentary on the part of his work will be evaluated. Finally, some articles of Sezgin will be examined, but due to its importance some of his works will be emphasized more.Then, in the context of these studies, we discussed his contributions to the science of commentary, his attitude towards scientific commentary, his imagination of the Qur'an, the history of the Qur’an, the Qur’an and the linguistic commentary.When introducing Sezgin’s works, we tried to give more information about the issues closely related to our subject.We determined his views through his works and his speeches on different occasions.
