Abstract Of Title

Religion has a very important function to ensure the unity and integrity of society. However, it is social reality that religious beliefs and understandings are influenced from the society they are in, forces that dominate the society, social layer and occupations and that they take shape depending on this case and some religious trends occurs as a result of this. In this study named "The Quranic Approach Towards The Conception Of Schism" particularly focused on the meaning area of sect, the proposals of Quran to avoid schism are discussed by semantic analysing the word related to sect or denominalisation. In Western culture religious movements that have occured within every religion are expressed in terms of Sect and denomination, a little moderate of it, while in Islam culture as examined in this study, they are expressed with the words which are entered in the field of sect such as faction, sect, clan, community, group, school, current, denomination. The boundaires and dimensions of attitudes towards this formations, which have sociological and psychological dimensions, have been described and shown us in the Qur'an and in the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad who is presented as the best model by Qur'an. In terms of the Qur'an peoples' thinking differently, having different views, abilities and alternatives are natural and required by sunnetullah. The most important causes of Qur'an's looking positively to these disagreements, as discussed in 3rd section, are to compete in charity, to achieve works and actions for the benefit of society and productivity. Societies, ignored this perspective offered by Qur'an, are divided exposed to fragmentations by being dominant negative attitudes such as jealousy, ignorance, prejudice, imitate blindly and they do not have a dignified life. In this respect, during in the first periods, although Islamic thought managed to gather the societies of different races, colours, nations under the same roof, in the course of time different communitarians, exclusive secting movements have found opportunity and ground to sustain their growth by decrease of consciousnes capacity. In the Islamic world conflict based management issue began to appear soon after death of the Prophet (saas) and this caused political conflicts. These conflicts and strife have increasingly begun to expand in a religious and ideological framework. As natural consequence of this, as discussed about the causes and results of secting in 3rd and 4th sections, these have led to occur many sectarian movements blaming each other of heresy, excluding the others. Naturally how the salvation and safety to be provided have been a big problem because of these sectarian understandings. In this context Kharijite and Sunnism regard salvation as being a member of a charismatic community. However, Shiism regards salvation as being subject to divine inspiration sourced leaders/imams. While earlier revelation sent societies have been divided and exposing to fragmentations, the Islamic world, with the influence of some groups having insufficient and superficial knowledge, had an only literal assessment not in Qur'an integrity. Consequently, they exposed to barren debates and divisons by the influence of narrow mindedness which is a large set to notice objective facts about religion, stereotypical approaches and bigoted and fanatical attitudes. With the expansion of Islamic land, very different beliefs, culture and philosophical insights have played major role in this process. This sectarian understandings have found an increasing ground in environment where civil war and strife, causing Muslims being affected political, social and psychological, have experienced and today affects of this are seen and are being experienced painfully. Indexed to see the differences, sectairan understanding has caused to sectarian fighting for long years and has led to the weakness of the social structure as a result. The main reason of this is that Islamic society have ignored the messages and principles such as Qur'an's qualifying the society as one nation, naming as Muslim and commanding to keep Allah's rope tightly and not leaving it. It can be said that the most quickly and practical solution of this problem, as stated in the 5th section under the title of Qur'anic Measures Against Schism, depends on caring about solutions offered by Qur'an and the society's being aware of these principles. Key Words: Qur'an, Sect, Congregation, Religions and İdeas, Schism, Disagreement.
